Freo's Pick 58: Brady Grey
Our final pick (#58) in the NAB AFL Draft is 18-year-old key forward Brady Grey from the Burnie Dockers
Height: 180 cm
Weight: 84 kg
DOB: 20/07/95
Position: Midfield/forward
Club: Burnie Dockers
From our recruiters: This season was Brady’s first year in the Tasmania under 18 Mariners program after previously being an elite soccer and cricket player. Brady played mainly midfield for the Mariners, where his ability to power out of stoppages was a highlight. He lined up as a forward in senior games for Fremantle partner club Burnie Dockers, where he played some very good footy. His Tasmanan State League Grand Final was outstanding, where he was Burnie’s best player in their losing side. Brady tested exceptionally at the combine. He recorded a 76cm standing vertical jump and a 92cm running vertical jump (ranked 2nd at the combine for both). His speed and agility were impressive, recording a 3.01 20m, 24.86 repeat speed and 8.47 agility. His endurance was a highlight, too, running a 14.7 beep and a 10.40 3km time trial. Brady possesses tremendous speed and utilises it both offensively and defensively. His ability to take ground balls at top-pace is exceptional. He posseses an excellent vertical leap which allows him to be a marking option when resting forward. Brady is a really tough, competitive kid. He’s fairly new to footy and has never done a pre-season before, so the scope for improvement is massive with him.
From AFL.com: Medium midfielder/forward who has represented Tasmania in soccer, cricket as well as football at under-age level. Has good speed and agility, tackles aggressively and can win his own ball. Played all five matches for Tasmania at Under 18 level this year.
