Freo preparing for Sydney’s best
Lee Spurr says the team is taking no notice of the Swans’ 1-3 win-loss record
The Swans, premiers in 2012 and preliminary finalists last year, have stuttered to a 1-3 start this season, losing games in Sydney to GWS, Collingwood and North Melbourne.
But Spurr said win-loss records were irrelevant and that Freo would be preparing to face one of the best sides in the AFL.
“Last time we played Sydney at the SCG it was a draw and a really hard fought match,” he said.
“We expect nothing less from the Swans this week.
“They are a really strong side and they’ll be looking to bounce back.
“We know we’ve got a fight on our hands and we have to come and produce four quarters of footy. Nothing less than our best will get us the result we want.”

Fremantle will travel to face the Swans off a six-day break and a game against Essendon played in hot temperatures last Sunday.
But Spurr dismissed those as factors come this Saturday.
“We train in this heat all the time, and 32 degrees isn’t even that hot,” he said.
“We spend the summers training in near 40-degree temperatures all the time.
“We’re a no excuse football club. It just means we’ll need to be really diligent in our recovery and do everything right so we can get up and be roaring and ready to go.”
