The good news to come out of Peel Thunder’s game against Claremont last Saturday was the successful return of Kepler Bradley.

It had been exactly a year since the popular Fremantle forward injured his anterior cruciate ligament in a game against Richmond at Patersons Stadium.

After a long rehab from a knee reconstruction, Bradley lined up for Freo’s WAFL affiliate Peel Thunder at the Showgrounds.

He had nine disposals and kicked a goal from 50m.

More importantly for Bradley, he finished the match unscathed.

“The knee was fine,” he said.

“I’d had a few hamstring issues leading up to the game, but that was fine today and it was just a great feeling to get out there and play some footy again.

“I only played half the game but I got through and had a couple of kicks.

“I’m still a bit rusty of course, but I’ll build on that next week.”

Bradley’s goal showed he had not lost any distance on his kick, although he said the big sticks were not his first option.

“I was looking to pass off to ‘Mora’ (Anthony Morabito), but it was good to get a goal and get back into the swing of things.”

Thunder succumbs to classy Tigers

The Thunder plays Perth at Bendigo Bank Stadium in Mandurah this Saturday, with bounce down at 2.05pm.
