The Live the Dream participants experienced life as an AFL footballer, celebrating a win in the change rooms after the Freo v GWS game on Sunday.
The 16 participants watched the 76-point win with third-year player Hayden Crozier from the stands at Patersons Stadium.
Isaac Pearson who has travelled from KilaBen bay in NSW said the experience was a great way to end a great game.
“It was awesome, it’s an amazing experience to be able to get down here with the players and see what they do,” he said.
“It was good to see them get a win, we had great seats and it was a cracking game.
“Hayden’s a good bloke.”
The participants mingled with their player mentors after the game, but the Live the Dream program hasn’t all been fun and games for the participants.
They were put through their paces on Saturday during an army boot camp at the Irwin Barracks in Karrakatta.
The aspiring footballers participated in activities that challenged themselves physically and mentally
“It was a struggle,” Isaac said,
“We had to push a few trucks across a footy field and go through an obstacle course.
“It was pretty full on, but it was a good time, it’s been great so far and I’m looking forward to the next few days.”
