Forward Hayden Crozier and midfielder Tom Sheridan come in, with key forward Matt Taberner omitted and Hayden Ballantyne forced out through suspension.
Ballantyne accepts ban
The emergencies are Garrick Ibbotson, Alex Silvagni and Jack Hannath.
Senior coach Ross Lyon had indicated on Wednesday that the club was looking to replace Ballantyne with a ‘like-for-like’.
It wasn’t just a forward for a forward swap, but a Hayden for a Hayden.
General manager of football operations Chris Bond said Crozier would be excited by the opportunity.
“He’s worked really hard during the pre-season and we were pleased with his form,” he said.
“He travelled last week without playing, but we’ve been really pleased with his training and form.
“We’re looking forward to seeing him play and he’ll get his opportunity.”
Sheridan won 32 possessions playing for Peel Thunder last Friday.
Bond said the 20-year-old was beginning to show he had the ability to become a regular AFL player.
“He had to go back to Peel and he made sure that he won plenty of the ball,” he said.
“He worked really hard and he used his attributes well, so he’s going to get his opportunity as well.”
Taberner comes out of the team after a quiet game against Sydney last Saturday.
Bond said the young forward just needed to go back to WAFL level and find some consistent form.
“He’s done that previously and we’ve got a lot of faith that he’ll go back and do that,” he said.
Bond, who captained Fremantle in 1999, has been involved as a player in Len Hall Tribute games.
He said playing on Anzac Day was an occasion that all people involved in football respected greatly.
“Our players understand that and our players are looking forward to it,” Bond said.
“I think our club shows that they show a lot of respect to the day by the game that’s put on.”
