WAFL Watch: Round 6 - Mids and defenders
Find out how Freo's players fared playing for Peel on the weekend
Anthony played on the wing and inside mid. He demonstrated some good body work in close winning 10 clearances and having 14 ground balls. He used the ball well, won contested possessions and his running numbers improved.
Alex Silvagni 11 disposal (9 kicks, 2 handballs) 5 marks, 3 tackles
Alex played as a key back opposed to Mark Seaby for the majority of the game. He defended well, with Seaby kicking three goals. He had some strong spoils and trademark physicality, as we have come to expect with Alex.
Brady Grey 13 disposals (9 kicks, 4 handballs) 4 tackles
Brady played inside mid and went to the wing in the last quarter. As in previous weeks his pressure and intent was at a high level, as was his run. Improvements were seen from the previous weeks and his bodywork around the stoppage is improving, particularly with his clearance work, where he had five clearances.
Thomas Vandeleur 12 disposals (9 kicks, 3 handballs) 4 marks
Tom played in defence opposed to Jack Richardson and Ryan Neates. He positioned well and influenced defensively. We are seeing some positives passages in Tom’s game and he is showing progress.
Jacob Ballard 22 disposals (19 kicks, 3 handballs) 10 marks, 4 tackles
Jacob worked hard as an inside mid and wingman. He worked well around clearances, where he got to good positions inside and had a strong work rate to pressure and stay in the contest. He worked hard offensively on the spread to have 10 uncontested marks.
