Sports science manager Jason Weber is confident Matthew Pavlich will be available for Saturday night’s game against Geelong.
The skipper had been under serious doubt after failing a cognitive test on Tuesday, but he passed it on Wednesday.
“He needs to train fully with the squad on Thursday, but on the back of the running he did Tuesday, we anticipate that will be completed and he’ll be available for selection,” Weber said.
Weber said Tendai Mzungu was responding well to treatment for his hamstring injury.
“He had a slight hamstring injury from last weekend,” he said.
“He has stepped up his running and we anticipate him progressing over the weekend and into next week.”
Senior coach Ross Lyon has already revealed star forward Michael Walters will return to playing when he lines up for Peel Thunder in the WAFL on Saturday.
“He has been training fantastic,” Weber said.
“We just need to let him get some time back in football before he steps up for senior selection.”
