Retired Fremantle defender, Antoni Grover will join ex-teammates Troy Cook, Jeff Farmer and Jess Sinclair in tonight’s EJ Whitten Legends Game.
After playing 202 games for Freo, Grover hung up the boots in 2012, but said an opportunity to play in the EJ Whitten Legends Game was too good to pass up.
“It’s a great opportunity to be in Melbourne, it will be great just to mix shoulders with some of the legends of the game,” he said.
“It will be good to see some old familiar faces of guys I used to play with and guys I used to play against.
“I’m pretty excited about that.”
Since retiring from the elite level the 34-year-old has not quit football all together.
“I have played a bit of footy in the country, I’m not in the same nick as I used to be, but I do try and keep myself reasonably fit.
“My aim is not to try too hard tonight, just to go out there and have a bit of fun.”
The 2014 EJ Whitten Legends Game will air on Channel Nine on Tuesday 1 July at 8.30pm.
