Watch out for… Hawthorn’s forward line. The absence of Lance Franklin has not affected the Hawks’ potency in front of goal this season. Jarryd Roughead is a superstar, while Luke Breust and Jack Gunston are quality players. In two rounds, Alastair Clarkson’s team has scored 139 and 90 points.

Watch out for… how Freo plugs the holes in midfield. Lachie Neale is an obvious candidate to step up, while Garrick Ibbotson’s return to defence could see Cam Sutcliffe move back onto the ball. The club has many players capable of playing in the middle, such as Stephen Hill, Danyle Pearce, Nick Suban and Tom Sheridan, so confidence levels are high that Nat Fyfe and Michael Barlow can be covered.

Watch out for… Matthew Pavlich and Chris Mayne to hit the scoreboard. The forwards have kicked a combined 1.7 this season. While Ross Lyon would be pleased that the side is still kicking winning scores, he will no doubt be a much happier coach when his key forwards find the big sticks.

Watch out for… the Hill brothers locking horns again. Brad has promised he won’t be bringing up the Grand Final in front of Stephen. The younger Hill has continued to emerge this season and has become a key member of the Hawthorn midfield. Stephen, meanwhile, is in excellent form at Freo, averaging 24 possessions and a goal in his two games.
