Fremantle Dockers first year player Darcy Tucker said the help he’s received from two of Freo’s biggest names has been instrumental in his first pre-season at the club.
“There’s definitely a couple big ones (helping), our skipper David Mundy and Nat Fyfe,” Tucker said.
“It’s great to be in there with them and I’m learning day by day.
“I couldn’t be learning from any better people.”
After competing against bigger bodied midfielders like Mundy and Fyfe over the preseason, Tucker reiterated the importance of the recovery process as he builds toward the start of the NAB Challenge.
Increased intensity "fun" for Mundy
“It’s massively important,” Tucker said.
“To be able to hold up against other big body midfielders.
“Making sure of your recovery and preparation is key.
“Getting to the beach nearly every night and doing everything to make sure you’re alright to get up for the next training session.”
While the move from Victoria was a big change for the talented young player, Tucker said he had adjusted well and loves life in WA.
“Obviously, it’s a pretty big shift being away from family and friends,” he said.
“I’m keeping busy everyday playing footy and it’s always been what I’ve wanted to do.
“It’s a great place over here and I’m loving it.”
