Peel Thunder face a big test against an in-form Subiaco side in Sunday’s second semi final at Leederville Oval, according to Griffin Logue.

The Lions haven’t dropped a game since their round one loss to South Fremantle on Sunday March 18.

Subiaco have since won 19 in a row, led by star forward Liam Ryan, who took out the WAFL’s Bernie Naylor Medal with 68 goals for the season – 14 more than his nearest rival.

While teammate Ryan Nyhuis kept Liam Ryan to a single goal in last year’s grand final, Logue said the decision was yet to be made on who will face up on the 184cm forward. 

“He’s a high flyer and he can take a great mark and obviously he knows how to kick goals,” Logue said.

“We’re still looking at who’s going to go to him but it’s always in the back of your mind to think about.”

While Logue has finals experience for the Swan Districts colts side, the defender is enjoying the chance to gain further experience at WAFL level.

“I think we’re all looking forward to the challenge,” Logue said.

“I think we’ve got one of our stronger sides coming in, so it’s just a matter of setting ourselves for the game. We’ll see how we go and we’ll give it a red hot crack.

“It’s my second finals campaign, I did one at the colts but it’s another step up in the league in the WAFL. I’m really enjoying it and looking forward to seeing where it takes us.”

The winner of Sunday’s game will advance straight to the grand final and Logue said that the potential inclusions of forward Brennan Cox and defender Luke Ryan would be a big boost for the Thunder.

“With Coxy, he’s a high flying forward who can take a really good mark and Luke’s much the same at the other end of the field, taking big and courageous marks,” Logue said.

“There’s a lot of energy from the two and if they come in it’s going to be another upside for the team.”
