It was one of the most extraordinary weeks in AFL and club history, and Fremantle had the cameras rolling behind the scenes.
The second instalment of fremantlefc.com.au’s documentary series Inside the Lockdown will be released today at 4pm, showing how the players prepared for and dealt with the fallout following the club’s round one AFL clash with Essendon and AFLW semi final against Gold Coast amid the Covid-19 crisis.
The documentary follows the men’s team from meetings at the hotel as well as the pre and post-game scenes at Marvel Stadium after a heart-breaking loss to Essendon.
Fremantle’s AFLW team endured a rollercoaster of emotions that week. Within 24 hours, they were taken from the highs of a 70-point win against Gold Coast to finding out the season was cancelled.
The episode follows on from Part One, which gave behind the scenes access as the club dealt with the uncertainty around whether round one and the AFLW finals series would go ahead.
