Fremantle are maintaining a round one focus despite all of the uncertainty around the start of the 2020 season, according to Fremantle leader Reece Conca.
Conca said his teammates were putting all doubt aside and are maintaining a focus on Essendon this Saturday at Marvel Stadium, should the game go ahead.
“It’s one of those really uncertain times at the minute,” Conca said.
“I guess we’re just taking it hour by hour, waiting to hear news from the AFL.
“As a playing group we’re just doing our business as best we can. We’re doing weights, we’re still training really hard and preparing as if round one is going to happen.”
Conca said the team would embrace travelling as a group to Melbourne.
“Traveling to Melbourne is an extra thing we would have to tackle but the club’s put some really great measures in place,” Conca said.
“We’re just making sure that we’re staying really calm, really focused.
“The best thing we can do is just really rally behind each other and really stay connected, make sure the communication lines are open from top to bottom.
“I think we’re holding up really well as a group and like I said, we’re preparing to play on Saturday.”
