AFLW senior coach Trent Cooper is sticking with a winning formula, naming an unchanged line-up for the second consecutive week for Freo’s clash against St Kilda at RSEA Park on Sunday.
It will be the same starting 21 that defeated West Coast by 45 points and Collingwood by three points in rounds two and three.
Cooper had praise for Fremantle’s emerging list, with a number of their younger players embedding their spots in the team.
“We were obviously really happy with the way the team has been playing, even though we were far from our best against Collingwood,” Cooper said.
“With a better injury run of late, we’ll go in with an unchanged line-up this week.
“We’re really happy to be giving the young players an opportunity but their form is demanding selection as well.
“We’ve got a really good mix between youth and experience at the moment and the girls are doing a great job with that.”
The clash will be Fremantle’s first interstate trip for the season against a St Kilda team that have impressed despite their 1-2 record.
Last week the Saints defeated flag favourites Melbourne to record their first AFLW win and pushed the reigning premiers Adelaide in round two.
The clash will be the first time a Fremantle team, AFL or AFLW, has played at Moorabbin, a ground that hosted 15 different V/AFL clubs through 254 games between 1965 and 1992.
Bounce down for the clash is at 3.10pm (12.10pm WST) and it will be broadcast live into WA from 12pm on Foxtel, Channel 7 and the AFL Women’s app.
