The no.31 jumper will look 31 centimetres shorter in 2020, with Liam Henry taking on the number worn by retired Fremantle legend Aaron Sandilands.
Standing at 180cm, watching Henry will take some getting used to for Freo fans, when he first runs out to play in the number previously worn by the 211cm ruckman.
Henry and his fellow draftees Hayden Young, Caleb Serong, Michael Frederick, Isaiah Butters, Leno Thomas and Jarvis Pina have all been allocated their official jumper numbers.
Sandilands wore the no.31 for 17 seasons between 2003 and 2019, playing 271 career games.
The ruckman won two Doig Medals (2009 and 2015), four All-Australians (2008, 2009, 2010, 2014), and still holds the competition-record for most career hit outs with 8502.
Henry will be just the fourth Freo Docker to wear the number, joining Sandilands and the likes of James Clement with 84 games between 1996 and 2000.
Young, Fremantle’s pick 7 in the 2019 National Draft, will wear the no. 26 previously worn by Clive Waterhouse for 106 games, and both Kepler Bradley and Ed Langdon for 68 games apiece.
Serong, Fremantle’s pick 8 in the 2019 National Draft, will wear the no. 22 previously worn by Scott Thornton (88 games).
In the no.43, Frederick will become the fourth Freo Docker to wear the number, previously worn by Roger Hayden (128 games) and Andrew McGovern (63 games).
Butters has been allocated the no.38, vacated by Luke Ryan after he moved to no.13 for the 2020 season.
Ryan wore No.38 for 49 games, while Michael Walters played in the number for the first 21 games of his career before changing to no.10.
Pina becomes just the third Freo Docker to don the no.47, a number that was worn by Jay van Berlo for 32 games between 2009 and 2012.
Thomas will wear the no.48 previously worn by Greg Madigan (18 games) and Greg Broughton (15 games).
