First-year ruckman Sean Darcy will make his AFL debut when Freo face Geelong this Sunday at Simonds Stadium.
Darcy, 19, is the lone specialist ruckman named in Fremantle’s 25-man squad, with Jon Griffin omitted with a calf injury.
The Geelong Falcons product was taken with pick no.38 in the 2016 National Draft and has impressed at WAFL level, averaging 29 hit outs per game for Peel.
Darcy is among six inclusions in Freo’s squad of 25, with Josh Deluca, Hayden Ballantyne, Ethan Hughes, Griffin Logue and Nick Suban also vying for a spot in the final 22.
Deluca could also make his AFL debut after being elevated from the rookie list.
The Subiaco product was initially drafted with pick no.68 in the 2014 National Draft. The 21-year-old was delisted at the end of the 2016 season and redrafted in the 2016 Rookie Draft.
Deluca impressed in the midfield in his last WAFL appearance, racking up five clearances, nine tackles and kicking two goals in Peel’s six-point win over South Fremantle at Fremantle Oval.
Alongside Griffin, Brady Grey (hamstring) and Cam Sutcliffe (omitted) are Freo’s three omissions.
With Deluca’s addition to the senior list, Alex Pearce has been moved from the senior list to the long-term injury list.
Meanwhile, Geelong has named four inclusions including Tom Hawkins, who returns from a one-game suspension.
Mark Blicavs, Jordan Cunico and George Horlin-Smith are Geelong's other inclusions while Nakia Cockatoo has been omitted with a hamstring injury.
