Fremantle take on Essendon on Saturday at Etihad Stadium.
With the suspension of Ryan Nyhuis, Freo will need to make at least one change to the team that defeated Port Adelaide by nine points.
Aaron Sandilands
Fremantle could have a big inclusion in a literal and figurative sense against Essendon, with their primary ruckman listed as a test to return from a calf injury.
Sandilands has been at his usual best in his 16th season at Fremantle and sits behind only Max Gawn for average hitouts and hitouts to advantage in the AFL in 2018.
A debut ruckman?
With both Sandilands and Sean Darcy (groin) listed as a test for Saturday's game, Fremantle may call up a debut ruckman to support first-year ruckman Scott Jones.
Either first-year Lloyd Meek or second-year rookie Luke Strnadica could get the call up.
For Peel against Perth, the pair split their time in the ruck with Meek getting 29 hitouts and Strnadica 28.
Darcy Tucker
Tucker was managed for Fremantle’s clash with Port Adelaide after picking up just eight disposals the week prior against Melbourne. It was a game well below Tucker’s usual output, with the wingman averaging 14.3 disposals and 3.3 tackles per game from his 13 appearances this season.
Taylin Duman
Duman is a potential replacement for Nyhuis with the defender looking to add to his five games played so far in his debut season. The 20-year-old continued his push for a return with 18 disposals and eight marks for Peel against Perth last week. In his past three WAFL appearances, Duman has averaged 23.3 disposals.
Shane Kersten
Kersten is also a chance to replace Nyhuis, with the 25-year-old showing promising signs against Perth with six marks and 15 disposals. Drafted as a forward, Kersten made the switch to defence following his omission in round one and played a further five games down back.
Mitch Crowden
After a dip in form, the midfielder/forward looks to have hit his straps with 20 disposals, seven marks and five tackles in his most recent WAFL appearance.
The 19-year-old has shown some positive signs in his debut season at Fremantle, playing in eight of the club’s opening nine games.
Harley Bennell
Picked up 19 disposals and five clearances in his most recent WAFL appearance but may still need more time to develop before making his return to the AFL.
