In 2015, Ed Langdon played two AFL games but says he is pleased that he could break into a strong team.
The exciting midfielder was taken at pick 54 in last year’s NAB AFL Draft and has shown promising signs as a major ball winner and gut-runner with Peel Thunder in the WAFL.
His consistent performances earned him a call-up in round 22 to face Melbourne at Domain Stadium.
His first touch was met with a loud roar from the home crowd.
“It was a moment I won’t forget,” he said.
“It’s something I can look back on more now, the season has ended.”
Langdon earning his spot in the AFL side was not an easy feat, given Fremantle finished on top of the ladder with 17 wins.
“Looking back at it and given how good the team was this year, I’m happy with how I performed in the end,” he said.
“To get into the side was pleasing.”
Langdon said the year had gone by in a blink.
“The season absolutely flew by,” he said.
“It only feels like last week that I was flying over here for my first week at the club.”
Langdon is spending much of the off-season in Europe with his brother Tom, who plays for Collingwood, and friends.
“We’re just going to do the main places, London to Paris, Berlin, Florence and then Barcelona for the last bit,” he said.
“We’re hoping to get to an EPL game if we can and then watch Australia play in the Rugby World Cup.”
