Fremantle midfielder Lachie Neale says senior coach Ross Lyon’s message was simple after the game, ‘stick together’.
The side suffered its worst loss of the year against Hawthorn on Sunday at Aurora Stadium but Neale said there were positives and negatives in the loss.
Hawks too good for Freo
“Ross’ message was for us to stick together, it was a disappointing day, there were a few factors with that,” he said.
“They were harder and tougher than us for four quarters.
“We couldn’t get our hands on it in the second half.”
Neale said ball use remained an area to improve after a number of weeks of poor connection between the midfield and forwards.
Ross Lyon post-match Q & A
“In the first half we had almost similar entries and possession gains,” he said.
“We didn’t use the ball well, once again, we’ll look at that.
“It’s about converting our possession gains in the midfield into scores.
“We’re getting the ball and defending okay but then we’re turning it back over to them.
“We’ve got to get better in that area…it’s been a few weeks in a row we’ve been poor with ball movement.
“Hopefully we can rectify that against Carlton.”
Ball use still a focus
