Fremantle has lost to St Kilda by an average of 65 points in its past two meetings at Etihad Stadium but senior coach Ross Lyon says that means nothing come Sunday.

The Saints dominated Freo by 58-points at its home ground in round 18 last year.

In 2013, St Kilda won by 71-points in the round 23 clash at Etihad Stadium, after Fremantle rested a number of players.

“We’re going to their home ground…it’s a unique surface and a unique environment,” Lyon said.

Talking Points ahead of the Saints

“We know it’s a challenge.

“What’s gone has gone.

“I think they (players) are disappointed…we don’t like anyone having the wood on us.”

Lyon dismissed any idea that Fremantle were searching for redemption for last year’s loss.

“Emotion doesn’t get it done,” he said.

Training Report: Lyon's roar

“Anger, happiness or whatever doesn’t get it done.

“The only thing that gets it done is action, relentless action.

“What are we planning to bring? We’re planning to bring relentless action.”

Fremantle play St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Sunday 9 August. Bounce down is at 4.40pm local time.
