Fremantle midfielder Michael Barlow has vowed to bounce back from his poor performance in Sunday’s Carlton Draught Derby.

For the first time in his career, Barlow failed to notch 10 or more possessions, with just four touches in the round 20 loss to West Coast.

He was handed the red vest in the third quarter.

Neale's 'sleepless nights' after derby display

Barlow has starred on WA footy’s biggest stage, having won an equal-best three Ross Glendinning Medals, including one in his debut derby appearance in 2010.

It appears a rare blip for the consistent midfielder who is averaging 22.4 disposals per game this season and has a career average of 25.3 disposals per game.

Talking Points ahead of North Melbourne

“Along with the rest of the team, I was very disappointed with my performance,” Barlow told Channel 9 on Wednesday.

“It’s frustrating for me but I’ll be given the opportunity to bounce back this weekend and play some good footy for the team I love, that’s the Fremantle Dockers.”

Fremantle play North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Sunday 23 August. Bounce down is at 1.10pm local time.
