There was a fierce battle at Fremantle Oval on Friday morning as two Freo veterans went head-to-head in the goal square.
Captain Matthew Pavlich and Luke McPharlin battled it out during a match simulation drill at Freo’s training session.
With 551 games of experience between the duo, it was a physical contest with Pavlich often ending up on the turf.
Zac Dawson (groin) and Hayden Ballanytne (calf) kept a close eye over the training session, both currently in the rehab program working on their return from injuries.
As always Nick Suban was vocal on the track offering plenty of support and encouragement to his teammates, Ballantyne offered some advice to young forward Michael Apeness.
Freo have named a 27-man squad for Sunday’s NAB Challenge match against West Coast at Domain Stadium (formerly Patersons Stadium) at 4.10pm.
