It has taken Tommy Sheridan time to earn his spot in Fremantle’s starting 22 but he is rewarding the coach’s faith in him, according to Lachie Neale.
Neale and Sheridan both arrived at the club in the 2011 National Draft.
Sheridan was pick 16 while Neale was taken at pick 58, but it is the latter who became a more regular face in the AFL side.
Neale has played 32 more games than Sheridan but both are now regular starters in the AFL side.
Talking Points from Richmond
“Tommy and I were drafted in the same year,” Neale told Channel 9’s Sunday Footy Show.
“He was first pick that year and he has a lot of talent.
“It’s taken him a few years to break in but he’s been fantastic.”
Sheridan has played every game since Round 7 and equalled his personal season high of 21 touches against Richmond on Saturday.
Neale said Sheridan was playing a key role for the side from defence.
“His role in the side is to provide that run off half back,” he said.
“He keeps growing.”
