Deputy leader of the Liberal Party and Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop has thanked the Fremantle Football Club for its donation of game balls which she presented to our defence force personnel in Afghanistan on Australia Day.
The Foreign Minister said: “It was an honour to spend Australia Day with our military personnel in Afghanistan including the SASR from Swanbourne. I thanked them for their service and commitment to building peace and security in Afghanistan. I gave the boys AFL game balls, donated by West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers. While Afghanistan remains a dangerous and challenging mission, I hope our servicemen and women are assured by my visit that Western Australians support their efforts along with the rest of Australia.”
