Lachie Neale believes that the Fremantle playing group will have an added incentive to perform in Sunday’s Carlton Draught Derby against West Coast.
Neale said the team was looking forward to the challenge of another big game early in the season.
“As a club we do (thrive on big games),” he said.
“We look forward to the challenge this week.
“Just like last week it’s going to be a tough game, it always is, so I’m looking forward to it.”
Neale in awe of Freo teammates
Neale is just one game shy of his 50th for Freo, but teammate and close friend Cam Sutcliffe is in line to run through the banner for his milestone this week.
“He came through the door the same time as me and straight away you could tell that he was a really switched on guy and really driven,” he said.
“That’s shown in his performances as well.
“He’s always consistent back there (in defence) and it’s a credit to him and his work ethic.”
With Neale just one game behind Sutcliffe, he couldn’t speak more highly of his experience at the club together.
“I love my time at the club and have done for four years now,” he said.
“I’m loving it at the club and hopefully there’s many more (games) to come.”
Freo takes on West Coast in the Carlton Draught Derby on Sunday 19 April.
Bounce down is 2.40pm WST at Domain Stadium.
