Live the Dream, presented by Decmil, is a once in a lifetime opportunity for 16 young Australians to become immersed in the culture of the Fremantle Dockers Football Club and ‘live the life’ of an AFL player for five days.
Live the Dream offers participants a rare opportunity to develop skills and behaviours, which can deliver long-term benefits to the individual and their local community.
The program will include a tour of Fremantle headquarters and Domain Stadium, a survival base camp in Chidlow, a ropes course at Point Walter Recreation Camp in Bicton as well as leadership and health and well being training sessions.
The Live the Dream program commences on Friday 3 July with Fremantle players Michael Walters, Tommy Sheridan, Hayden Crozier, Nick Suban, Chris Mayne, Michael Johnson, Danyle Pearce and Zac Clarke as the participant mentors.
Meet Ambrose Ryan from Melville
Sixteen-year-old Ambrose Ryan has been a lifelong Fremantle Dockers supporter, plays for Winnacott JFC and attends CBC Fremantle.
Ambrose would like to learn about how the AFL works behind-the-scenes, with nutrition, skills and injury prevention areas of interest.
Brad Puls is Ambrose’s football coach and says “he has a thirst for football, seeks feedback and has the desire to learn as much as he can from each training session.”
He believes Ambrose will benefit from the Live the Dream program because he is always looking to set a good example for his teammates and help him chase his dream of playing football at the elite level.
