Cam Sutcliffe says he is playing the way senior coach Ross Lyon wants him to play after he was recently omitted from the AFL side for two weeks.
Sutcliffe had 21 touches and 10 marks in Sunday’s 37-point win over St Kilda at Etihad Stadium, arguably his best game of the year.
It is a sharp turn around from mid-season when the 63-gamer was dropped for two weeks to spend time with Peel Thunder in the WAFL.
Sutcliffe could well be the personification of Lyon’s brand of football.
Fremantle building strongly
He may not be the most skillful player at Fremantle but performs his role and brings relentless effort.
Sutcliffe admitted the omission had helped his football.
“You can always improve,” he said.
“I had a few key areas I needed to go back to the WAFL and focus on.
“I felt I did that.
“Now I’ve come back into the team and I'm playing the way Ross wants me to.”
