Selection dilemma
With nippy forward Hayden Ballantyne a likely starter for Fremantle, it means at least one player from last week’s gutsy win over Sydney will be omitted. Despite the team’s undefeated start to the year, senior coach Ross Lyon said there were no guaranteed spots.

MCG
Fremantle has improved its record at the MCG record considerably under Ross Lyon to have four wins from its past eight matches. Its last match at the home of football was a 20-point win over Richmond in Round 13 last year. While the team will only visit the ‘G’ twice during the regular season, Freo’s wealth of experienced players, including many from the 2013 Grand Final, will not be overawed.

Melbourne’s mix of forwards
Former Blue Jeff Garlett has been a handy pick up for Melbourne and proved a live wire in front of goal this season, bagging seven goals. Reliable Freo backman Lee Spurr will likely get the quick-footed forward. Tall forward Chris Dawes hit form with two goals against Richmond while youngster Jesse Hogan has impressed with eight goals from four games.

Form
Both teams come into the game on good form, after posting wins in round four. Fremantle have not lost a game this season, while Melbourne have won two from four and sit just outside the eight, on percentage.
