Hayden Crozier also impressed with 18 disposals and six tackles as he pushed for AFL reselection.
Fremantle midfielder Brady Grey said the win was a nice addition to a big finals build up for Peel.
“We knew it was going to be tough and physical, the weather came out nice for us,” he said.
“I thought we got them in the last quarter.
“[It’s] a nice building block for next week.”
Captain Brendan Jones, who led the Thunder’s midfield with 35 disposals and three marks, will play his first finals series this year after a lengthy run in the WAFL.
“He played 200 games and has never had that experience of finals,” Grey said.
“It’ll be nice to play finals with him and hopefully we can get the job done.”
Peel also won the hit outs 52 to 24 despite ruckman Zac Clarke spending time on the sidelines serving a one-game suspension for striking, Grey said Peel’s ruck depth did the job in his absence.
“We’re really fortunate with five ruckman on the list,” he said.
“Craig Moller and Jack Hannath really stood up today.”
Peel will kick off their first finals series against West Perth at HBF stadium next Saturday in a qualifying final.
