Danyle Pearce says Fremantle’s players run as well in the first minute of games as they do in the final minute, courtesy of a tough pre-season.
During the off-season players trained on Saturdays and Pearce said that the extra work is now paying dividends.
“Just to know you’ve got that under your belt, that fitness and that running, it gives you belief that no matter how long the games goes or how tight it is going to be, you’re still going to be as good as you are at the start,” he said.
“We’ve put in a lot of work over the course of the pre-season.
“It’s become very beneficial for the team.”
Pearce said the players were confident if a game went down to the wire, they were fit enough to compete until the end.
“All that work we put in during the pre-season, we know that any game that comes down to the last minute, we’ll be switched on mentally and physically,” he said.
Fremantle play Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Saturday 30 May. Bounce down is at 7.10pm local time.
