Fremantle defender Michael Johnson says the players will learn quickly and address their recent second half fade outs and aim to put four quarters together against Melbourne next Sunday.

Fremantle conceded six unanswered goals in the second half in its 14-point win in the 20th annual Len Hall Tribute Match at Domain Stadium, after a dominant first half had Sydney on the ropes.

Johnson, who collected 18 disposals including six marks, said the players would learn from the second half.

“The best thing about Fremantle is the players learn quickly,” he said.

“At half time we spoke about that they would come at us, we let ourselves down in the third quarter.

“We dug in, in that last quarter.”

Johnson said Melbourne were coming off a good win against Carlton and would be a tough challenge at the home of football.

“We’ll go over to the MCG, and hopefully come away with a win, but we know they are coming off a good win,” he said.

We want to play well at the MCG: Hill

Johnson said Freo enjoyed playing at the MCG.

“It’s the home of footy, we don’t really get much game time there,” he said.

“It’s always good to play there.”

Freo play Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday May 3. Bounce down at 1.10pm local time.
