Aaron Sandilands is feeling good and putting in the hard work, following his rib injury sustained against West Coast in round three.
“I’m on the mend now, and starting to feel good again,” Sandilands said.
“I’m starting to do a few exercises and having a sit on the spin bike, so it’s good to be back at the club.”
Sandilands said he knew he’ taken a big hit once the collision occurred but he wasn’t entirely aware of its severity.
“I knew when I hit the ground that it was a pretty solid hit,” he said.
“I heard my ribs go, and I thought I was just winded and had to get up as quick as possible to try and suck the air back in.
“It’s one of those things, it’s part of the game, and it was just unfortunate that I was on the wrong side of it.”
The Freo big man said he was overwhelmed by the support shown by the Purple Army following the incident.
Talking points: Rd 5 v Carlton
“The support has been outstanding and a big thankyou to all the people who have sent their best wishes.”
While many Freo fans have been wondering about Sandilands’ health, his focus has remained on football, and despite not being able to take the field, he’s looking forward to his Sunday’s clash.
“We haven’t got off to the start we’re looking for but we’ve had a really good week on the track and can’t wait to take on Carlton on Sunday.”
