Garrick Ibbotson is Fremantle’s intercept king, picking off 22 intercepting marks this season.
The Herald Sun compiled a list of each team’s top interceptor with Ibbotson the pick of the bunch at Fremantle.
He has been in fine form this year, playing all 11 games and often playing on a much taller opponent.
Ibbotson is leading Fremantle’s intercept possessions count with 68 touches and he has clunked 22 intercepting marks, thwarting plenty of opposition offensive moves.
In the absence of the injured Michael Johnson his role is more crucial, supporting tall defenders Luke McPharlin and Alex Pearce and setting up offensive moves with his penetrating kick.
The article said Ibbotson’s return to full fitness was a win for the club.
“Ibbotson gives Freo some much needed run from defence and a deadly foot going forward,” it said.
