Live the Dream - Meet Brandon Donaldson
Live the Dream, which is proudly supported by Decmil is back for 2014.
Live the Dream offers participants a rare opportunity to develop skills and behaviours, which can deliver long-term benefits to the individual and their local community.
The program will include a tour of Fremantle headquarters and Patersons Stadium, a boot camp session at the Irwin Army Barracks located in Karrakatta as well as leadership and health and well being training sessions.
The Live the Dream program commences on Friday 11 July with Fremantle players Paul Duffield, Tommy Sheridan, Hayden Crozier, Stephen Hill, Chris Mayne, Nick Suban, Zac Clarke and Colin Sylvia as the participant’s mentors.
Meet 16-year-old Brandon Donaldson from Bertram.
Brandon is enrolled in the SEDA program and participated in the State Schoolboys 15s team that travelled to Adelaide. He is currently playing for the South Fremantle Colts.
Brandon said Live the Dream would be of great benefit to him for a number of reasons.
“It will provide me with opportunities to improve my communication and team work skills,” he said.
“I am excited that this program will help me develop my leadership skills and confidence so that I can take these skills back to my school and football club and act as a positive role model.”
Ben Walsh, his teacher at SEDA, said Brandon had been identified among his peers as having great leadership potential.
“He demonstrates these qualities through his actions on a daily basis,” Walsh said.
“Brandon is a naturally quiet student, and I believe an experience like Live the Dream would enable him to develop his communication skills and confidence to influence others.”
