Saturday’s 20th annual Len Hall Tribute Match against Sydney marks five years since Nat Fyfe debuted in purple.
In his 95 games for Freo, he has made a lasting impression on the competition.
Here are five of his most memorable moments, so far.
1. Debut, - Round 5, 2010.
His debut against Richmond in the Len Hall Tribute Match was most memorable for his first goal, which came a trademark contested mark.
In a sign of things to come, Fyfe flew across two players to take a strong mark before slotting his first goal in AFL from about 25m out.
Fyfe bagged 13 touches including six marks in a solid debut.
2. Rising Star Nomination – Round 9, 2010
Just four rounds after his debut, Fyfe received a Rising Star Nomination in a breakout performance against Sydney.
Racking up an impressive 23 possessions, four clearances, seven marks and five tackles.
He was the second highest possession winner for Freo, behind David Mundy.
Not bad for an 18 year old.
3. Carlton Draught Derby – Round 8, 2011
While Freo lost the match, Fyfe’s near-impossible banana goal from the pocket will go down in Derby folklore.
It was not just the tight angle that wowed fans, it was the fact the natural right-footer split the posts from a left-foot check side kick, while under pressure.
4. Elimination Final - 2012
Fyfe has a habit of stunning the Cats, no more so than in the 2012 Elimination Final.
He took an incredible one-handed grab over the top of Geelong captain Joel Selwood.
The ball was on its way out of Geelong’s back line, during the first quarter, and Fyfe managed to pluck the mark in a most outstanding fashion.
5. Mark of the Year Nomination – Round 9, 2014
For this incredible effort against Geelong in Round 9 last year, Fyfe was nominated for Lifebroker Mark of the Year.
He got a perfect seat on top of the shoulders of Geelong’s Jared Rivers.
There was little the defender could do to stop the outstanding speccy.
