From the Crows: Talia to have surgery
Adelaide will be without its preferred opponent for Matthew Pavlich
Talia came from the ground cradling his injured arm in the final quarter of Adelaide's Qualifying Final loss to Sydney on Saturday and will have surgery on his broken forearm today.
The 20-year-old played on Pavlich in Adelaide's round 20 win at AAMI and held the Freo skipper to two goals.
Crows' strategy and innovation coach Dean Bailey said the side was confident it had the depth to cover for Talia's absence.
"Dan's going to be hard to replace, but with Andy Otten and Luke Thompson we've still got a couple of talls, who can come in and play that role," Bailey told FIVEaa.
The most likely opponent for Pavlich on Friday night appears to be veteran defender Ben Rutten, who has played on Freo's captain in the past.
Star midfielder Patrick Dangerfield copped an errant forearm to the head in the last term, but has been cleared of any structural damage.
