Fremantle has re-signed talented youngster Tommy Sheridan until the end of the 2017 season.
Sheridan, who came to the club at pick 16 in the 2011 National Draft, has rewarded played 15 games this season.
The Calder Cannons’ (Victoria) product said he was honoured to remain at the club he loved.
“To get two more years at Freo is an honour,” he said.
“It’s an honour to play in the purple each week.
“Every home game, even away games, the fans are great.”
Sheridan shining in career-best form
Sheridan has played 34 career games and is part of an emerging young group of Fremantle players such as Hayden Crozier, Lachie Neale and Alex Pearce.
Sheridan said the decision to extend his stay at the club was easy to make.
“I was always going to stay,” he said.
“There is a great group of lads here.
“Coaches and staff, I have got to know too.”
Sheridan relishes challenge
Fremantle’s general manager of player management Brad Lloyd said Sheridan had been a strong contributor, especially this season.
“He is a real professional with the way he approaches his football,” he said.
“He has developed steadily since he was drafted to the club in 2011 and is now getting some reward for the commitment he has to his football.
“Tommy is a popular clubman and a positive re-signing for the club.”
