Going into year 11 or 12? Head back to school in 2014 by combining your education with your love of footy.

2014 will see the second year of the Fremantle Dockers Sport Development Program kick off, growing from one class in 2013 to three classes in the Perth region and one regional class in Bunbury.

The SEDA Fremantle Dockers Sport Development Program offers students an opportunity to complete their Year 11 and 12 in an applied education setting in an industry they are passionate about. Students receive their WACE Certification as well as nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications; Certificate II and III in Sport and Recreation and Certificate II in Sport Coaching. In its inaugural year SEDA was awarded runner up in the VET in Schools Excellence Award, with graduate Holly Johnson also named a finalist in the School Based Traineeship Awards.

In partnering with the Fremantle Dockers, SEDA were able to provide some fantastic opportunities to their students in 2013. These included assisting in the delivery of the Fremantle Family Day, Freo Fundamentals and the Purple Playground. Two students were also fortunate enough to be awarded an opportunity to complete the Fremantle Live the Dream program.
