Nominations are open for the WA draft ahead of the inaugural season of the AFL national women’s league in 2017.
The draft, to be conducted on October 12, will see 19 players selected to represent Fremantle in the competition, which will run between February and March of next year.
Clubs will then select three players from a national pool comprising those who missed selection in their state-based drafts.

To be eligible, candidates need to be 18 years-old as of January 1, 2017.
Draftees will join Freo marquee selection Kara Donnellan on the track when preseason training commences in late November.
Fremantle’s other marquee selection, Kiara Bowers – who claimed a record-breaking fifth WAWFL fairest and best award this month – will miss the competition’s inaugural season after rupturing the ACL in her right knee.
