Ahead of Fremantle’s clash with Adelaide at Domain Stadium on Sunday afternoon, let’s look at some interesting facts from their clashes with the Crows.
As we approach the end of Matthew Pavlich’s glittering career, it is fitting the first fact involves Fremantle’s record goal scorer. In round 14, 2005, Pavlich kicked the record goal haul of any Fremantle player against the Crows, when he slotted eight majors. Freo were trailing by 36 points at half time, but a six goal to one final term saw them go down by just a solitary kick.
Talking points ahead of Adelaide clash
Fremantle and Adelaide have had margins of less than 10 points on five occasions, with three of these games decided by a single point. Fremantle have won all three of these single point games, and all three were played at Domain Stadium.
Tony Modra may have only played three seasons for Fremantle, but before that, he was an Adelaide star. He was also the leading goal kicker at Freo in 1999, and won the award five times for the Crows. He won the Mark of the Year award at both clubs (in 2000 at Freo, and in 1993 and 1997 at Adelaide), and finished his career with 588 goals from 165 games.
