A number of Freo players put their hand up for selection consideration after solid performances for Peel Thunder, and some notable names who didn't play against Hawthorn should be available for Saturday's clash against Richmond.
Here are some of the players whose recent performance have put them in the mix for a round eight appearance against the Tigers on Saturday.
Matthew Pavlich
The key forward has been in good form so far in 2016 and was rested for Freo’s round eight clash with Hawthorn in Launceston. Pavlich didn’t play at the WAFL level and should receive the full benefit of a week’s break from football. At his post-match media conference after the Hawthorn game, Lyon responded with an emphatic “yes” when asked if Pavlich would play against Richmond on Saturday.
Tommy Sheridan
Sheridan was a late withdrawal against Hawthorn in round eight due to illness but could be in the mix to play against Richmond on Saturday. His run and carry off halfback could be useful against a tall Tigers forward line.

Zac Dawson
After the Hawthorn game on Saturday, senior coach Ross Lyon said Dawson had been defending well despite being omitted for the round eight clash. The 197cm defender travelled with the team in round eight and could be in the mix to matchup with the Richmond’s forward line height of Jack Riewoldt, Ty Vickery, Ben Griffiths and the occasional ruckman in Shaun Hampson.
Michael Barlow
Barlow impressed in a rare appearance for Peel Thunder against South Fremantle on Saturday. The midfielder finished the game with 39 disposals and 12 marks and was an integral part of Peel’s tight contest for three quarters against the top of the ladder Bulldogs.
Matt de Boer
The hardnosed midfielder continues to perform at a high level for Peel Thunder, and was among the best on the ground with 39 disposals and a goal on Saturday. In addition to his ball winning abilities, de Boer piled on the pressure, finishing with eight tackles and delivered the ball inside 50 on six occasions.

Darcy Tucker
The first year player continued to use the ball well while playing on a wing and finished with 19 touche. Tucker displayed good composure with his skills by foot and also displayed his speed on a number of occasions.
Sam Collins
The big bodied defender had another strong game holding down full back and gathered 17 disposals in a tightly contested game against South Fremantle. He was under pressure for much of the Bulldogs’ seven goal final quarter but held his own against the dangerous Ben Saunders.
