David Mundy is adamant Fremantle did not drop away in the second half of tonight’s 10-point Semi Final loss to Adelaide that ended the club’s season.

After leading by as much as 29 points in the first half, Freo couldn’t match it with the Crows in the end.

Mundy said Freo were simply outplayed and refused to blame any tiredness associated with the club’s short turnaround going into the game.

“We didn’t fall away,” he said.

“The boys fought it out all night, which was great.

“We lost a little bit of organisation in the second half and we weren’t as composed with the ball as we would have liked.

“The Crows opened us up with their ball movement, especially in the second half, and we just weren’t able to match them.”

Mundy, who had a game-high 30 disposals, said he was proud of his teammates for maintaining their work-rate all night.

“I think the boys really worked hard all night and put it all on the line,” he said.

“When we had to go, we were putting our heads over the ball and chasing after the footy.

“I don’t think it was effort or a lack of run, it was just a bit of organisation more than anything.”

Mundy said senior coach Ross Lyon echoed those sentiments in his post-match address to the team.

“Ross said it wasn’t the effort we were putting in,” he said.

“It was just the organisation that was hurting us. A few things that we’d been warned about that we didn’t quite cover.

“Obviously, he said it was a disappointing end result, but he was still proud and the focus is now the pre-season so we can really launch into next year.”
