Peel Thunder defeated Swan Districts by 18 points on Saturday at Rushton Park.
Senior development coach Marc Webb runs through how the 14 Fremantle-listed players fared, plus Lloyd Meek, who played in the reserves.
Sean Darcy
Played in the ruck and went forward. He really built on his first up performance and he had a strong impact with 31 hitouts, two clearances and was able to work the angles well. He ran forward to put some pressure on and ended up with three goals.
Bradley Hill
It was his first game back from injury and there were really positive signs. He played on the wing, had 25 possessions and broke the game open with his ball use and ability to overlap run.
Taylin Duman
Played back for the game. He was impressive with his roll-off defence with nine marks. He positioned well as a defender and used the ball well with 25 kicks. He also kicked an important goal in the final quarter to help steady Peel.
Tom North
Played on the wing where he put in a good performance with 24 possessions and nine marks. He used the width of the ground well and was clean around the contest. He also hit some important kicks with his left foot.
Harley Bennell
Played on ball in an encouraging game. He had 17 kicks from his 21 possessions and was also really impressive around the contest with nine clearances while kicking a goal. He keeps progressing with some more improved game time this week.
Danyle Pearce
Started on the ball and played forward as well. It was a really impressive performance with six clearances and 35 possessions. He performed well around the contest, setting up the play with his ball use and ability to win the contest.
Brady Grey
It was his first game back from injury and he played at half-back and on the ball. It was another solid performance where he defended well, was clean around the contest and collected four clearances. It was a good first-up effort and it was good to see his pressure back with eight tackles.
Mitch Crowden
Played forward and on the ball. His pressure was important around the contest with six tackles and he chased, harassed and showed his capabilities. It was a good performance in a midfield role.
Ethan Hughes
Played back for the game. He competed, spoiled well and didn’t give the Swans forwards much time.
Michael Johnson
Played back where he was important with his ability one-on-one. He was under pressure a few times, won some critical contests and helped set up the play with his ball use in the back half.
Luke Strnadica
Played forward and in the ruck. He competed well and showed his marking ability with nine marks and three contested.
Cam Sutcliffe
Played forward, on the ball and on the wing in a variety of roles. He brought the pressure around the contest and followed up well. He had 12 possessions but was really instrumental around the clearances in the final quarter.
Cam McCarthy
Played forward for the majority of the game and went back for a bit of the final quarter. He got into some good positions and ended up with five marks but he couldn’t finish off some of his work in front of goal.
Scott Jones
Played forward and in the ruck where he competed well. He contested up front and performed well when in the ruck with 13 hitouts.
Lloyd Meek
Played in the reserves where he rucked all day. It was a really strong performance from Lloyd where he keeps building his ability around the contest. He had 18 possessions, 52 hitouts and also kicked a goal.
