Fremantle will use the final three games of the season to build for next year, says midfielder Stephen Hill.
“There’s three games left and we’re not going to make finals, we want to look to keep improving,” Hill said.
“We want to keep building on our game plan and the way we play.”
Fremantle started strongly against a team vying for a home final, and opened the scoring through Shane Yarran as they pegged the Eagles deep in defence, but West Coast’s tall forwards stretched defenders Sam Collins and Alex Silvagni as the game wore on.

Hill said coach Ross Lyon was pleased with aspects of the team’s performance.
“He was pleased with our ball movement and improvement in the first half especially,” he said.
“He was a little bit disappointed they scored a bit easy in that second half, but we’re still moving forward.”
The classy midfielder was again among Fremantle’s best, collecting 30 disposals and driving Freo inside 50 on seven occasions.
Hill gathered 10 contested possessions to cap off a good month of football, in which he has increased his average possessions from 21.8 in his first five games of the season to 26.8 per game in his past five matches.

Hill, who has played 169 games for the club, said he has improved his work around the contest.
“I’ve been playing a bit more inside mid in the last couple of weeks and been working on clearances and bodywork,” he said.
“I feel like its coming along and I’ve probably improved in that area.”
Fremantle play Adelaide on Sunday at Domain Stadium, and Hill said the team were focused on their game plan.“We’ll see how they play and see what we can do to stop them, and also keep working on our footy.”
