Fremantle senior coach Ross Lyon has praised his young stars for their constant improvement so far this season.  

Lyon told 6PR on Tuesday ‘there’s some shining lights occurring that might not be obvious to everyone else.’

‘[Lachie] Weller’s improving every week and [Ed] Langdon,’ said Lyon.

‘[Connor] Blakely continues to improve.’

Lyon was particularly impressed with key forward Matthew Taberner, saying ‘he brings an incredibly work ethic and a desire to play football.’

‘It was a significant game for Matthew.

‘We played him a bit deep and moved him around, but I think we was almost our best player.’

Fremantle host Essendon at Domain Stadium this Saturday, at 5:40pm AWST.
