Motivation and belief are still high at Fremantle, after a narrow loss to the GWS Giants in Perth on Saturday night, according to assistant coach Marc Webb.

Webb told 6PR on Tuesday that the team is still highly motivated and continuing to improve and evolve.

“We’re really strong in our belief that we can turn things around, and prepare again for another tough challenge against Hawthorn this week,” he said.

With opportunity and growth at the forefront for Freo’s season, this week’s clash against the reigning premiers is seen as a good challenge for the younger players.

“We’re really strong at making sure we give opportunities to the players who are playing well at Peel.

“That’s going to continue, no doubt.”

Fremantle coach Ross Lyon has spoken of the challenges the midfield faced this season. Webb said they had ‘tweaked a few things’ in an effort to keep up with the game’s evolution.

“It’s constant improvement and the fact that you don’t want to be left standing still,” he said.

“As a group we want to keep improving and keep evolving.”

Fremantle play Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium in Launceston on Saturday.
