Aaron Sandilands and Hayden Ballantyne will be given chances to prove their fitness for Saturday’s clash with Brisbane, according to high performance manager Jason Weber.
Sandilands has missed the past two weeks with a hamstring injury and was a late withdrawal against Collingwood on Sunday.
“Aaron’s training really well, he’s got up and going,” Weber said.
“He’s obviously still a test for this week, so we look forward to getting him through training this weekend and let the match committee look at him.”
Ballantyne, who is yet to play a game for Freo in 2017, trained alongside Freo’s Peel players on Tuesday morning.
“Hayden’s been very explosive, “ Weber said.
“He trained today with the WAFL group so we’ll expect to see him (train with the Fremantle squad) later in the week and we’ll let the match committee have a look.”
Weber had some positive news on Matthew Uebergang, who joined the WAFL training group for a part of their training session.
“Matt’s starting to progress,” Weber said.
“He’s obviously a very complicated hamstring injury but he trained with the WAFL group today, so it’s great to see him progressing along.”
