Fremantle is set to celebrate the achievements of some of the club’s most distinguished players in 2018, with a handful set to reach milestones next season.

Michael Johnson, Stephen Hill and Nat Fyfe headline Freo’s list of potential milestone men in 2018, while Michael Walters and Aaron Sandilands can potentially add to their own list of special achievements as early as round one.

GAME MILESTONES
Michael Johnson – 250 games (currently 231)
Veteran defender Michael Johnson needs to play at least 19 games in 2018 to reach 250 games, with the milestone coming as early as round 20 for Freo’s away Derby against West Coast at Perth Stadium.
Johnson played every game in 2017 and finished the season injury free, the first time he played 19 or more games since 2013.

Stephen Hill – 200 games (currently 190)
With his 10th game in 2018, Stephen Hill will become the 10th Fremantle player to reach the 200-game milestone. If plays every game to start the season, Hill is due to celebrate his milestone in front of a home crowd in round 10 against North Melbourne. On that day, Hill will be 28 years and 27 days old, which would make him the youngest Fremantle player to reach 200 games since Matthew Pavlich (27 years, 122 days).

Nat Fyfe – 150 games (currently 138)
Fyfe is also set to celebrate a milestone game in front of a home crowd if he plays every game to open the season, with the Fremantle captain’s 150th game coming as early as round 12 against Adelaide at Perth Stadium.

Ross Lyon – 150th game as Fremantle coach (currently 141)
In 2017, Ross Lyon became Fremantle’s longest-serving senior coach. In round nine of the 2018 season against Sydney at the SGC, he will become the first Fremantle coach to lead the side for 150 games. From his 141 games with Fremantle, the club has won 79, drawn one and lost 61.

Connor Blakely – 50 games (currently 33)
Blakely will need to play 17 games in 2018 to reach the 50 game milestone, currently set for round 18 against Essendon at Etihad Stadium.

Darcy Tucker – 50 games (currently 31)
Tucker is rapidly approaching the 50-game mark, set to reach the milestone in his third year at the club. Tucker will need to a play 19 games in 2018, currently set for round 20 against West Coast. Nineteen games is well within reach for the 20-year-old, playing 19 games in 2017 after playing 12 games in his debut season.

GOALS
Michael Walters – 200 goals (currently 199)
Walters’ 2017 was cut short with a knee injury against Hawthorn in round 18 but the exciting small forward shouldn’t have to wait too long to slot his 200th major, just one short of becoming the fourth Freo player to reach the milestone.
The three-time Fremantle leading goalkicker needs 26 goals to pass Jess Farmer’s mark of 224 goals for the club and become Freo’s third highest goalkicker of all time.

AGE
Aaron Sandilands – 35 years
With every game played in 2018, Aaron Sandilands will set a new record as the club’s oldest player. Currently, Matthew Pavlich holds the record at 34 years and 208 days, however, Sandilands will turn 35 during the pre-season and could become the first 35-year-old to represent the club.
