Aaron Sandilands says he has no doubt in his ability to contribute at an elite level for a 16th season with Fremantle.
The 34-year-old has signed a one-year contract extension that will see the ruckman at Freo until at least the end of the 2018 season.
With any appearance in 2018, Sandilands will become the first player aged 35 years or older to play for Fremantle.
“I was pretty confident that I would be able to get through another season,” Sandilands said.
“My body feels really good. It was a pretty easy decision.”
Sandilands has missed the past three weeks with a hamstring injury, but remains confident he will be fit to return after the bye for Freo’s round 14 clash with Geelong at Simonds Stadium.
“Things look pretty good at the moment, I’m starting to get the strength back to where I need it,” Sandilands said.
“The running is going along really well so I’ll tick a couple more boxes and hope to get back to full training this week and I’ll be good to go.”
Sandilands, who sits on 253 career games, said that playing 300 was far from his mind.
Instead, the two-time Doig Medallist is motivated to help Fremantle return to their best football.
“I was just happy to get to the 250 and at this point in time. It’s all about trying to grow the group and become a great side again,” Sandilands said.
“That’s the driving factor for me.
“We’ve got an exciting group. I think we’ve got a really good core group at the moment.
“There are exciting times ahead, we know we’ve got a heap of work to do but the group wants to do that work and I think that’s the pleasing thing.”
