Friday saw Fremantle's first full training session for 2017 after the players returned to the club on Wednesday with a 3km time trial.

Four players made the move from the rehabilitation group to the main training group after the Christmas break, with Michael Johnson, Shane Kersten, Michael Apeness and Brady Grey taking part in a modified program.

The session started with the usual stretching and warm-ups before moving into handball and kicking drills.

The players then split into their forward, midfield and defensive areas to take part in match-simulation and stoppage drills.

Among the forwards, Matt Taberner performed well, standing tall and taking plenty of strong marks in the one-on-one marking drills, while Cam McCarthy showed explosive pace on the lead.

Among the midfield group, Bradley Hill proved hard to catch on the run while Connor Blakely also showed his ability to burst through the pack in a "handball only" match simulation.

The session wrapped up with the players getting more kilometres in the legs with some running drills.
